FINDING THE CONFERENCE
The following GoogleMaps map
shows the location of the Bahen Institute of Technology Building
at the University of Toronto (where the conference will be held),
Hart House (where the Opening Banquet & CIF Awards will
be held), New College Residence (on-campus accommodations),
89 Chestnut Residence (off-campus accommodations), and the Sutton
Place Hotel (where the Sunday Welcome Reception will be held).
Please click on the map to be taken to the GoogleMaps
website to see the interactive map in full size. Click on the
blue pointers to see more detail about each location.

PUBLIC
TRANSIT
If you would like to take public transit to the conference,
the nearest subway station is Queen's Park Station, which is
located at University Avenue & College Street. From the
subway station, walk west along College Street to St George
Street and then north on St George Street to the Bahen Building.
As a reminder, University Avenue runs north-south and College
Street runs east-west. If you're at University & College,
the CN Tower is south of you (always an easy way to determine
which was is north and which way is south!) In addition, the
506 Streetcar runs along College Street. At the time of publication,
the current fare for the TTC is $2.75 (adult fare) for a one-way
ride (or 5 tokens/tickets for $10.50). If you will be transferring
from one type of vehicle to another (e.g. taking a bus and then
the subway), be sure to take a transfer when you enter the system
(from a machine just after you pass through the turnstiles for
the subway or from the driver on a bus or streetcar). If taking
a bus or streetcar, exact change is required. Tokens or tickets
may be purchased at all subway stations. If you're not familiar
with the TTC, we recommend that you pick up a Ride Guide from
any of the subway stations. You may also find more information
at: www.toronto.ca/ttc.
If you would like to take the GO-Train (or a GO-Bus) into the
city for the conference, please visit: www.gotransit.ca
for full details.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Driving Directions From
West of Toronto:
If you are on the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) eastbound toward
Toronto from the west, continue toward downtown Toronto. If
you are on Hwy 401 eastbound toward Toronto from the west, turn
south onto Hwy 427 after you pass the airport and follow the
signs to the QEW. Then take the QEW east to downtown Toronto.
The QEW becomes the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto. As you approach
downtown Toronto, you will see the CN Tower - the second tallest
free standing structure on earth - directly ahead of you. Soon
after you pass the CN Tower, take the Yonge-York-University
exit (which is the exit after Spadina). Go north on York Street
until it meets University Avenue. Drive north on University
Avenue until you reach College Street. At this point, you should
go west on College Street, but you are not allowed to make a
left turn. Be sure you are in the left lane before going through
the lights at College Street and you will see a special U-turn
lane on your left shortly after going through the lights. Use
this lane to turn around and return to College Street, where
you can now turn right. Drive one block (pass one light) west
on College Street to King's College Road. At this point you
can enter the campus by turning right (north) onto King's College
Road, where you can park (street parking), or continue west
on College for another two blocks (another two lights) to Huron
street. You can turn right (north) on Huron street to enter
the Bahen Institute of Technology Building garage.
Driving Directions From
East of Toronto:
If you are coming from the east toward Toronto on Hwy 401 westbound,
turn south onto the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) after Victoria
Park Avenue. Take the DVP south to Bloor Street. Drive west
on Bloor Street until you reach St George Street. Turn left
onto St George Street and drive south until you reach College
Street. You have (as above) two choices: (a) Turn left again
onto College Street and drive one block east to King's College
Road. At this point, you can enter the campus by turning left
(north) onto King's College Road, where you can park (street
parking); or (b) Turn right on College to Huron street. You
can turn right (north) on Huron street to enter the Bahen Institute
of Technology Building garage.
Driving Directions From
North of Toronto:
If you are driving south on Hwy 427 from north of Toronto, follow
the Driving Directions From West of Toronto
(above) after you pass Hwy 401. If you are driving south on
Hwy 400 from north of Toronto, go west on Hwy 401 at the junction
of Hwys 400 & 401 and then go south on Hwy 427 at the junction
of Hwys 401 & 427. Then follow the Driving Directions
From West of Toronto (above).

Stay on the bus to Kipling Subway Station. Take the subway to
St George Subway Station (when you exit the station onto St
George Street, you will be just north of Bloor Street). Walk
south on St George Street (toward the CN Tower). If walking
to New College Residence, turn right on Willcocks Street. If
walking to the Bahen Building, it is located at 40 St George
Street.
Rental Car: Five rental car agencies are
available on-site at Toronto Pearson, with 24-hour support to
reserve, pick up, and return rental vehicles. Rental car agencies
are located on Level 1 of the parking garage at each terminal.
For further information, or to make a reservation, please contact
the car rental agency directly. Visit the GTAA

PARKING
Parking is available close to New College Residence
and in the Bahen Building. However, it is pay parking, which
can be very costly in downtown Toronto. Guests have the option
of parking on city streets in the area (which have pay meters
and restricted times) or on University of Toronto parking lots,
located across campus. The entrance to the Bahen Building underground
parking garage is at the rear of the building (off Huron street,
parallel to St George, one block west). The building is listed
as #18 "BCIT" ("Bahen Centre for Information
Technology") on the University
Parking Map .
The University of Toronto Parking Office (which
is one of the many University of Toronto lots) is steps away
from the New College Residence Halls at 1 Spadina Circle. For
the most updated rates and more information, please call the
UofT Parking General Inquiry Line at 416-978-7275 or visit their
website at: www.parking.utoronto.ca.
Parking is also available at 89 Chestnut Hotel
Residence. On-site parking is based on availability and is not
guaranteed by the hotel. The hotel will not take reservations
for parking spaces (i.e. spaces are available on a first-come,
first-served basis). The current parking rate for overnight
guests is $23.00 for a 24-hour period.
