The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to June 15, 2007.

Students of the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Toronto are pleased to invite submission of student abstracts for the upcoming conference, Forests in Settled Landscapes. This conference will be co-hosted by the Faculty of Forestry and the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) Southern Ontario Section, and will include a special session for student research. The conference will be held from August 20-23, 2007 at UofT's St. George campus in downtown Toronto.

Students* in the broad disciplines of forestry, geography, environmental studies, urban planning, landscape architecture or others are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations that address the conference topic. Accepted papers will be grouped into the three streams of the conference: 1) Regional Landscape Planning, 2) Private Land Forestry and Stewardship, and 3) Urban Forestry.

Submitted abstracts should include a title and specify whether oral or poster format is preferred. Abstracts that do not exceed 200 words should be sent to studentFSL@wpine.forestry.utoronto.ca by April 30th, 2007 June 15, 2007 in .doc or .rtf format.

The student registration cost is $100 (plus $25 for CIF membership) and affordable accommodations will be available in the New College Residences, conveniently located within short walking distance of the conference location.
